Tom & Kelly Quantrille: Owners

We’re Kelly and Tom Quantrille, and while we may not be chefs or brewers by trade, we are passionate about offering something truly special to our community. Tom, a chemical engineer, and Kelly, a real estate agent, have always dreamed of working together on a project that would bring people together and contribute to the community they love. Between us, we have eight kids. At home we have our mule Rosie, a horse named Trinity, two donkeys (Hank and George), and a few cats and dogs. We know all about family, hard work, and the value of creating a welcoming space for everyone. We’ve remained steadfast in our commitment to creating a unique and authentic experience for our guests. We wanted to craft a space that celebrates the same qualities — strong, reliable, and a little playful. And of course, we wanted to share our love of craft beer and delicious food with the people of Landrum.

We’re incredibly grateful and blessed to be part of such a wonderful community. Every meal we serve, every pint of beer we pour, and every conversation we have with our guests brings us closer to becoming even more involved and connected here in Landrum.

Kyle Maurer: Brewmaster

Kyle is our Head Brewer, hailing from Southeastern Pennsylvania, Kyle honed his craft working in beer focused restaurants and homebrewing before becoming a professional brewer in 2017. With 8 years of brewing experience and over 17 years of hospitality experience Kyle wants to bring a touch of hometown feel through his beer with a pop of world class flavor. Kyle enjoys Pilsners and Lagers and the ever so classic American IPA, but he’ll never shy away from a new style and try it.

When Kyle’s not making beer or cleaning all that stainless steel, he’s at home with his wife Devon, their mutt Ridley and two cats, Lt. Dan, and Steve. He enjoys all sports and you’ll most likely see him around town wearing one of the Philadelphia Sports teams logo, but he’s one of the good fans. Kyle aims to make every beer as enjoyable as the first beer that made him fall in love with the craft, and hopes you do too while at the Mule.

Cody Richards: Executive Chef

Chef Cody Daniel Richards is bringing BIG flavors from all 50 states to our little town and to your table! Drawing inspiration from a childhood spent mostly out on the farm and in the garden, you can count on Cody to rely heavily on local, seasonal, sustainable products, and to always prioritize quality. Cutting his teeth in rural scratch kitchens up and down the Oregon trail and sharpening his claws in fast paced big city restaurants from Seattle to south Florida, he found a passion for competitive cooking. He has won every Burger Battle that he has had the privilege of competing in. In his kitchen, respect, cleanliness, and collaboration is the culture. He believes that every plate should tell a story, or take you back to a place you once called home.  

Sierra Waddell: Event Coordinator

Sierra serves as the Events Coordinator at Stubborn Mule Brewery, bringing more than 15 years of experience in the food and beverage industry. While this is her first official event coordination role, her experience as a mother of four has made organizing, planning, and creating memorable experiences a daily part of life.

She is passionate about bringing people together and creating opportunities for friends, families, and neighbors to connect in a fun, welcoming environment. Sierra believes great events are about more than food and beer—they're about fostering community, creating lasting memories, and building meaningful connections. Through community partnerships, fundraisers, vendor markets, and special events, she is dedicated to helping Stubborn Mule create experiences that leave a positive impact both inside and outside the brewery.
